Happy New Year to all of my writers!
It's a new year and time to get step your writing game up. Start by reflecting on your old ideas and turn them into something new and improved. This will keep you grounded and also improve your writing skill.
Another way to step your writing game up, is to hook up with nature. When you get outside more (even when it's cold) you feel refreshed, open to new and greater possibilies and willing to take risk in your writing. As we all know, the mother of all mother's, mother nature takes risk every day. Taking a moment to capitalize on that will enhance your sense of self, creativness and spirit.
Remember, it's 2012 so there's no time like the present to truly step your writing up.

READ TO GAIN INSPIRATION FOR YOUR NEXT STORY!
We all know that reading is fundamental in many ways. It helps us to communicate, translate, and most of all gain lots of knowledge about many things.
Many writers read for pleasure or for research. However, many don't read for inspiration.
When engaging in creative writing, it's important to take the time out to read as much as you can. This not only gives you the basics but also serves as inspiration for your next novel or poem. Reading can take your mind to places that you wouldn't ordinarily think of doing if you were just sitting at your desk and pondering what line to write next in your story. It helps to expand your thought process and helps you to focus when it's time get back to working on your story.

NEW YEAR AND NEW IDEAS!
The new year is fast approaching and many of you who are aspiring writers are wanting to get your stories out to the masses in a major way.
Many of you have great ideas or ideas that have a fresh take on an oldie. It's important to look at your pile of ideas and start writing.
To get started, take that idea and create a short short story, better know as "flash fiction." Then, you can take that flash fiction story and turn it into a major short story. To keep it going, you can then turn it into a novel.
The trick is to be very creative and think outside of your box to invent, blend, and to be truly innovative when it comes to the type of stories you ultimately want to create.

SPICY LIT NIGHT CAP: WORD PLAY: Peek!
When I think of the word "peek", I instantly think of a scene where two people are role playing and one is hiding and peeking out from behind a huge draped curtain or peeking out from behind a door.
However you use it in your writing it can add a sensual feel to your story just by corporating it.
One way it's sure to please your readers is using it in a scene that's adult oriented. Having a scene where two consenting adults are showing a playful and loving side is a good way to incorporate the word "peek." You can definitely get very descriptive in how you describe the sensual playful behavior of the two characters in the scene.
As you get descriptive, remember to take the word to the next level by describing dramatic sounds, like soft running or how sexy feet sound hitting a cold hard wood floor as one character is looking for the other in a playful manner. Meanwhile describe just how the other character is "peeking." Meaning, how hard their heart is beating, if they are sweating, or if they are tickled or laughing inside while they are peeking from behind that huge draped curtain.

LISTEN TO YOUR INNER WRITER'S SOUL!
Your inner self is best way to understand you as a writer. Listening to your gut feeling is what can take your writing to new heights and then some.
People talk about creative writing like it's a hard thing to master. They say if you don't attend an accredited creative writing program then you don't know what it's like to be creative.
"WRONG!"
I personally take offense to that. I believe anyone can be creative no matter what the critics or he nay-sayers say. If you want to pen a story then start by picking up your pen and start writing. If you want to seriously pen a story, then it depends on you and how deep your passion is to tell that story. That's where your creativity comes in.

WHAT IS CREATIVE WRITING TO YOU?
When you think of what creative writing is to you, what are your thoughts? What story or poem pops in your head? What inspires you to write creatively?
These are things for you to think about as you read on through this post of "what is creative writing to you."
As many of already know creative writing is considered to be any writing, fiction , poetry, or non-fiction, that goes outside the bounds of normal professional, journalistic, academic, and technical forms of literature. That's the definition of creative writing in nut shell.
However, to many of us it means something totally different. We define creative writing by the way we write, tell our own stories, and how we creative a piece of poetry.

CREATING YOUR OWN HOLIDAY LEGACY BY STORYTELLING!
The holidays is the part of the year that most of us look forward to in a major way. It's a special time that we gather and spend time with friends and family to show how much we love each other.
For this holiday make it special by starting your own family legacy by storytelling.
It's a great way to freeze those special moments that happen during the holiday season with family and friends.
To get started designate someone who you believe has an ok writing ability (doesn't have to be a professional). Then, get all the materials like a scrap-book, pens, lots of paper, cameras and your family. After doing all of this, make sure the individual designated has all the materials needed to start the documentation.
As you attend family dinners/parties be sure to document what's happening so that you won't have much to do when the holidays are all over.
When it's complete seal it away in a safe place for years to come.

SURVIVING WRITERS BLOCK!
Writer's block is what most writers say when they are tired and they choose not to continue on with their current story.
Most writers write, stop and then write weeks later when they think about it.
We say, it's writer's being absolutely lazy instead of focusing on completing the story at that time.
The truth to surviving writers block is surviving yourself. It comes down to having the enthusiam to finish what you've started.
For some it's easier said than done, as most writers have a short attention span anyway.
Sticking to your writing goals is key. That' why building a list before you start writing with your goals for the day is where you start. Once you do that, you start writing. Then take small breaks in between to gather your thoughts and let what you have written marinate in your mind. Then, it's back to writing for the length of time you have promised yourself.
It's all about taking the time to build up your writing stamia to get your story finished and having fun in the process. If you can do that, then you can survive writers block.
Today, take the steps and survive writer's block; the stink of writing.
