MIXING IT UP: The Color Combination In Literature!

The facinating aspect of writing is that; it has no "color" bounds.

As a writer you can write about whatever you want, and that includes different cultures, races and genders. This is the very aspect that makes a writer's work stand out.

Literature isn't bound any ethics or code that says you have to stay in your lane or with your own culture. It teaches us that we can explore and define who we and how we think about others.  Those who master it are more creative in the profession and aren't locked in a box.

Being creative and expressing your thoughts by creating a story or a poem about another culture or gender can open your work up to another audience, and can teach your culture own about others in many ways.

Today; Think about creating a story around a black person (if your white), a white person (if your black), a latino person (if your black or white) to show how diverse you are in storytelling.

Remember, it may be the one thing to set you apart from the rest.

*Writing Tip: To enhance your storytelling about another race or culture, make sure you research the history so that you know things like dialect, food, mannerism etc...

These are the things that create characters and make your storytelling oh so interesting.*
